Philosophy

Little Royals Montessori Preschool's philosophy is to acknowledge each child and support the natural phases of their development. We aim to foster competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.

Mission

To provide an excellent Montessori inspired Education that enables the development of every child to reach their full potential.

Vision

To be a leading preschool that develops confident, independent, community-minded children, inspired towards developing a life-long love of learning.

About Us:

Our Montessori inspired centre provides our tamariki opportunities to observe, problem-solve, and navigate solutions within a nurturing and welcoming environment.

Our centre spaces are arranged to ensure that core values of learning and development are established and supported from an early age.

Dr. Montessori placed a strong emphasis on providing a peaceful and orderly environment. We believe that each child has the right to feel safe and secure within their learning space so that foundation skills are supported.

Learning for our tamariki occurs in a variety of ways, and we support this by treating each child as an individual and supporting their own learning journey.  Through careful observations and reflection, kaiako will provide a place where tamariki can flourish in an environment that allows them to follow their interests, embark on adventures, and explore in their own way.

As part of individual learning our tamariki are encouraged to be confident in their own culture, allowing them to be their own person while developing an understanding and respect for other cultures. Our environment and kaiako support the variety of cultures and aspirations of our whānau on this journey.

Within the preschool (and wider kura) we appreciate the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, having bicultural environments, embracing tikanga Māori and acknowledging the unique place Māori have as tangata whenua. Te Whāriki 2017 is woven into the Montessori philosophy and curriculum.
